15 Years in IT Taught Me This—So I Built a Business Around It

After 15 years solving tech chaos for schools, law firms, and enterprises, I saw a bigger problem: businesses with the right tools, but no real system. Here’s why I built Marcoby—to help owners finally control their technology, not the other way around.

15 Years in IT Taught Me This—So I Built a Business Around It

I’ve always been the “figure it out” guy.

Give me a vague problem, a broken system, or a half-working idea—and I’ll get you to a solution. No hand-holding. No excuses. Just outcomes.

That mindset carried me through 15+ years in IT:

  • Solving technical fires no one else wanted to touch
  • Deploying infrastructure under pressure
  • Supporting education, healthcare, professional services, and enterprise environments—even pro sports teams

What I saw over and over again was this:
Most small and mid-sized businesses had the right tools—but no cohesive system.
They duct-taped their operations together and hoped for the best. When things broke, they called me.

For a long time, that worked.
It kept me employed. It gave me a front-row seat to what made systems thrive—or fail.
But over time, I realized something:
I wasn’t just fixing tech. I was architecting order.
And the deeper reward wasn’t in the rescue—it was in building structure that lasted.

🧠 From Execution to Ownership

I’ve spent my career executing inside other people’s systems—delivering value within their constraints.
But I kept thinking…

What if I could build something of my own? Something that let me solve bigger problems at scale?

That’s why I created Marcoby.

At first, it was simply a way to take the frameworks and tools I’d developed and turn them into something that could support my family.
But Marcoby quickly became more than that.

It became a platform—a new model—for how small businesses could manage technology with less stress, more clarity, and better outcomes.

🔧 What We’re Building: The Marcoby Model

Marcoby isn’t just a company—it’s a growing system built from real-world experience.

Every piece of it reflects what I’ve seen firsthand: the gaps, the friction, and the missed opportunities that cost businesses time, money, and peace of mind.

🟢 Pulse

Smart sourcing for the tools and infrastructure businesses rely on—software, cloud services, licensing, VoIP, and hardware. Pulse helps owners simplify procurement, reduce sprawl, and know exactly what they're paying for.

🛠 Catalyst

Proactive managed services that actually manage. Support, cybersecurity, automation, compliance, and lifecycle care—all designed to reduce fire drills and help your business run smoother every day.

🧠 Nexus

Our flagship platform: an intelligent operating system for small business. Nexus brings together workflows, business insights, and AI to help you scale your operations without scaling chaos.

💡 What I Believe

Technology should make the business more productive, secure, and scalable. Or it's a distraction.

This is what drives me—and everything we’re building at Marcoby:

  • Business tech should make you more productive—not more overwhelmed
  • Support should be proactive, not break/fix
  • You shouldn’t need a dozen vendors to feel secure
  • Your systems should grow with you—not slow you down
  • And most of all: owners should own their outcomes

What I used to build for others, I’ve now built into Marcoby—so organizations can finally run with confidence.

🚀 What’s Next?

Marcoby is still growing, but our mission is clear:

Help business owners build something sustainable, scalable, and worth passing on.

We’re creating the system I wish I had years ago—when I was juggling deployments, resetting passwords, and holding everything together with duct tape and grit.

If you're a founder, operator, or small business that’s trying to get out of survival mode, we should talk.
